Defensive Score Sheet: MSU vs. Ohio State

Memories of the three Michigan State-Ohio State classics from 2012 came flooding back while watching this game. Both teams struggled offensively as they have for most of the season but the defense was as good as advertised.

Outside of the do-it-all Deshaun Thomas, the Buckeyes didn't have another player with more than six points. That is really how you should judge MSU's defense in this game as Thomas (28 points) is one of those rare guys who just gets it done no matter what. Holding the rest of the team to 28 total points is a phenomenal accomplishment. Of course it took an oddly-attempted running 3-pointer with four seconds left to seal the Spartan victory.

FINAL SCORE: Michigan State 59, Ohio State 56
